A heartfelt Facebook post from Chef Adam Brown of The Cooper to help the tourism industry decimated by Hurricane Irma in the Florida Keys has inspired chefs restaurants across South Florida to come together.
What resulted from that post was the creation of an event, "Chefs for the Keys." Participating in the event is the who's who of the Palm Beach County restaurant scene.
Chef Adam says, “The response was spontaneous and amazing. I can’t believe all the people who want to help. Thankfully, it’s growing into an area-wide, collaborative program.”
Chef Adam has teamed up with En-Flux Private Chef Troy Sheller. “Tourism is the lifeblood of the Keys,” adds Cher Troy. “It forms the basis of the economy, and the area can’t survive without restaurants and bars. If Palm Beach County had been hit just as hard, we would be suffering equally. It’s gratifying for us that we can lend a helping hand to people in the industry.”
The event will be at the Riviera Beach Marina Village on Friday, October 6.

Guest of "Chefs for the Keys" event will experience food from South Florida's premier chefs, open bar, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Seating is limited, so if you want to go, you are encouraged to purchase your tickets now.
Proceeds will benefit the food and beverage hospitality workers in the Florida Keys who are out of work due to Hurricane Irma. The money donated will go to the Islamorada Beer Company team, founders of theFlorida Keys Fund/Gotta Love Them Fun, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
