The country music stars who were performing the night of the mass shooting in Las Vegas that left at least 50 dead and 400 injured are reacting to the shooting on Twitter.

It happened at the Route 91 Harvest Festival just off the Las Vegas Strip, across the street from the Mandalay Bay Hotel where the shooter was reported to have been. The shooting started at 10:08 p.m.  local time Sunday.

Country music superstar Jason Aldean was performing when the shots rang out. He posted on Instagram just before 4:30 a.m. EDT.

"Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don't know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night."

Other stars who were performing that night, including Jake Owen who took the stage right before Aldean, posted their reactions on Twitter.
