Some retirees take up hobbies to keep busy. But only one has taken up owning and flying military jets.

Art Nalls' amazing story of "Badass Pilot Buys Own Fighter Jet" was posted May 22, 2015, on the AARP YouTube channel and went viral over the Memorial Day holiday.

"I can't believe I just bought a Harrier," Nalls says in the video. "There's not many wives that would support there husband 100 percent on a project like this."

Nalls' story of purchasing his own Harrier jet (he owns three now) garnered over 500,000 views on Memorial Day, YouTube said Tuesday.

Here's the caption of the video:

"Art Nalls has had a life long dedication to flying. His addiction to the sky has lead him to an honorable military career and an even more adventurous retirement. Nalls has had the unique opportunity to purchase his own British Harrier Jump Jet. Find out how this retired Lt. Col test pilot uses his passion for flight to help preserve military history with the maintenance and upkeep of the last three remaining Sea Harriers."
