Boston man sells snow online, gets business

One man’s freezing pile is another man’s business opportunity.

Boston.com reports that at least 100 people have purchased “historic” Boston snow from Ship Snow, Yo, a snow service company that ships snow to “your friends, family and enemies.”

The snow is shipped overnight in 16.9 ounce bottles or a 6 pound container. That big box of fresh Neptune Snow goes for $89. The bottle is $19.99.

Like any good business, Ship Snow, Yo is also providing a public service — by helping to rid Boston of its icy albatross.

“We desperately need your help getting this snow [out] of our city!” the site says.

For now, there doesn't seem to be any supply issues.

“At this rate, it’s going to be July until the snow melts,” said founder Kyle Waring to Boston.com. “But I’ve thought about taking this idea and running with it for other seasonal items. Maybe I’ll ship some fall foliage.”

Some shipments might arrive as water, the site admits. There are no refunds.
