A mother and her son discovered a body in a small pond near Greenacres Monday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

They were looking at iguanas in a tree just east of a Walmart Supercenter near the 6200 block of Forest Hill Blvd. around 2:48 p.m. when they spotted the body and called the sheriff's office.

According to a PBSO news release, a dive team responded and removed the man's body from the pond.

It was identified as a homeless resident of Greenacres.

PBSO said there is no obvious signs of what caused the death. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Detectives are still attempting to notify his next of kin and said in a written statement that more information will be released when it becomes available.
