Pre-K student brings unloaded gun onto bus

LOXAHATCHEE GROVES, Fla. -- A young student brought an unloaded hand gun onto a school bus in their bag Friday, according to the Palm Beach County School District.

A representative from the school contacted parents with a recorded call where he detailed that the bus attended noticed that a pre-K student "had something strange in a bag he brought on the bus."  The rep stated that the attendant took the bag away from the student and discovered an unloaded hand gun.

School police are investigating the incident.  According to the child's parents, the child was accidentally given the wrong bag before boarding the bus this morning.

Officials say at no time were students or staff endangered.
