Fire crews spent the early hours of Sunday morning working to put out a fire that destroyed a 51-foot, multi-level yacht at the Riviera Beach Marina.
West Palm Beach Fire Rescue, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the Coast Guard all assisted Riviera Beach Fire Rescue, which was called to the marina at around 1:30 am.
Fire crews say the fire was so massive that they were not able to put it out with hoses. According to a battalion chief on scene, the flames didn't die out until the yacht was almost completely underwater.
Fire crews say another 42-foot yacht nearby also caught on fire. Firefighters say only about half of the boat was damaged before they were able to put the fire out. It was towed away afterward.
No one was hurt. Fire Rescue crews say the cause of the original fire on the first yacht is under investigation.
