Big Dog Ranch Rescue and country music star Kenny Chesney are helping to save pets impacted by the hurricane-ravaged U.S. Virgin Islands.

The territory is still largely without power and water as residents recover.

Chesney’s foundation, "Love for Love City," is helping relief efforts in the Virgin Islands following the hurricanes. Chesney's home on St. John was destroyed by Hurricane Irma in September.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue is also helping animals in Puerto Rico.

On Thursday night, Laurie Simmons with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and dozens of others, helped unload more than 100 dogs off a plane that landed at Palm Beach International Airport. The plane was charted by Chesney.

So far they have flown more than 500 dogs from the Virgin Islands and want to send even more planes.
