The victim of the crash has been identified as Kimberly Pellot, 44, of Lake Worth.
Pellot died after a vehicle went into a canal Thursday, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
A horse handler discovered the wreckage and called 911.
According to a crash report, Pellot was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra. It appears she was not wearing a seat belt.
Deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the incident near South Road and 40th Street S in Wellington.
They found a deceased woman inside the car.
The sheriff's office believes when the car hit the water it flipped and pinned the driver inside.
