December trial set for Dalia Dippolito

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- The retrial of a Florida woman accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her newlywed husband is now scheduled for Dec. 1.

Palm Beach County Judge Glenn Kelley expects jury selection for Dalia Dippolito's retrial to take two or three days and the trial to take about a week.

The 33-year-old Dippolito was convicted in 2011 of trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband Michael Dippolito in 2009.

The video of her conversation with an undercover police officer was shown on the television show "Cops."

She claims she was acting as part of an ill-conceived attempt to get hired for a reality TV show.

An appellate court overturned the conviction because of the previous judge's error.

Dippolito's attorneys have asked the Florida Supreme Court to throw out the charges.
