Vero Beach's record rainfall by the numbers

Vero Beach officially recorded 11.22 inches of rain on Tuesday. 

That breaks the records for:

1) The previous record for May 17 was 1.38 inches.

2) The all-time wettest day in the month of May for Vero Beach was previously 5.50 inches in 1979.

3) The all-time daily rainfall record for Vero Beach for any day of the year was previously 8.82 inches in Jan. 21, 1957.

This also makes May 2016 the wettest May ever on record for Vero Beach.  The previous record was 12.06 inches in May 1979.
