Neighbors of the couple killed in a vicious, random stabbing attack in unincorporated Martin County have nothing but nice things to say about them.

They say John Stevens and Michelle Mishcon Stevens loved their daughter and their dogs.

Neighbors also said the couple often went out on their boat and fished.

They were known to invite others over to their home and have a good time.

"Every night they had their garage door open and they had a party.  They seemed to be a really nice couple,” said neighbor Sunni Olson.

“I know what the neighbors told me, they were delightful people, quiet people,” Martin County Sheriff Willian Snyder said.

Neighbors told the sheriff that Stevens and Mishcon were known to sit in their garage with the door open.

“For everything we’ve seen, I’ve looked a couple of pictures, they seemed like a lovely couple out sitting enjoying the evening,” Snyder said.

Mishcon-Stevens  is the daughter of former North Miami Beach Mayor Jeffrey Mishcon.

A post on the deceased woman's Facebook page says services for the couple will be held Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
