One man is dead and another injured after a shooting Saturday night in Boynton Beach.

Boynton Beach police received a call to a house in the 1600 block of N. E. 4th Court at 11:40 p.m.

Responding officers found two men had been shot. One shooting victim was taken to Bethesda hospital and the other died at the scene.

Police identified the deceased man as 29-year-old Anthony Harris.

“He was always playful and laughing and telling jokes and always had an upbeat mood,” said neighbor Gerry Fasolo.

Aaron Terry also lives in the neighborhood and grew up with Harris. “He was a real good friend," said Terry. “He would give you the shirt off his back if he had it. Man, there’s not too many like him. It’s kind of shocking.”

Saturday’s deadly gun violence was the third shooting in Boynton Beach in less than a month’s time. The two other shootings were at the end of January. No one died in those shootings.

However, all three shootings were no more than a mile and a half apart.

“The senseless violence has to stop at some point,” said Terry reflecting on the recent violence and loved ones lost. “Somebody has to step up at some point I don’t know. It just has to stop.”

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call Boynton Beach Police at 561-732-8116 or Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.
