PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol has identified a man who died in a crash on Florida's Turnpike in southern Palm Beach County Thursday morning.
Troopers said the wreck involving a BMW and tanker truck happened around 5:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes, just south of the Boynton Beach Boulevard exit.
According to FHP, a BMW, driven by Vaden Allen, 46, of Haverhill, Florida, lost control and spun out. A tanker truck, driven by Elier Delgado, 33, of Hialeah, Florida, then struck the BMW.
Allen was pronounced dead on the scene. Delgado was not hurt.
The wreck caused heavy delays for much of the morning, but traffic was back to normal by midday.
