The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect accused of killing a woman and injuring her adult son in White City on Saturday.
The homicide occurred at a home on Traub Avenue.
Deputies are searching for a Hispanic man, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing jeans and a dark shirt with bright writing. He was last seen carrying a large knife or machete.
SLCSO says the homicide victim is 74-year-old Sheila Hamner. Her son, Kenny Hamner, is recovering at a local hospital.
Neighbor William West keeps replaying the frightening scene in his head, "I heard yelling and screaming."
He saw a man come out of the home on Traub Avenue.
"Walking right up to him and he was covered in blood," says West.
West hopes whoever did this is caught soon, saying, "[The] world's becoming an angry place and everybody needs to just calm down."
