One year ago Monday, Hurricane Irma made landfall in the Florida Keys.

In our area, the Treasure Coast was one of the hardest hit, including a Fort Pierce apartment complex that is still recovering to this day.

Thoughts of another hurricane makes the memory fresh at Sabal Chase Apartments.

Angela Van Lew showed us those memories in her apartment.

"All my furniture was destroyed," said Angela. "Left my clothes, everything. Come back the next day and find your entire life just dumped in a pile."

Several doors down, Jerry Barber reflects. Glad to be back.

"I'm happy now. I'm just praying that we don't get another hurricane," said Jerry.

Both returned months after property managers renovated all ground units at the complex.

120 residents were displaced following the storm, 53 returned.
