Video has surfaced of the Orlando gunman appearing as a G4S security guard in a 2012 documentary about the BP oil spill.

In the scene from the movie, "The Big Fix," the filmmaker is trying to get onto a beach in Pensacola in 2010 when she is met by Omar Mateen at the gate.

"Good morning do you have a badge?" Mateen asks in the film.

"No, I'm just wondering what's going on here," the filmmaker responds.

"Oh, it's just for BP, like the oil spill," Mateen says.

"Is there anyway I can talk to the people who are out there working?" the filmmaker asks.

"Like, there is people out there but they're scattered all over the place," Mateen says. "There's no one really to talk to like supervisor, no one gives a s**t here."

"Like, everybody is just out here just to get paid," Mateen says. "They're like hoping for more oil to come out and more people to complain so they can have jobs, because once people get laid off here it's going to suck for them."

"They want more disaster to happen because that's where their money making is," Mateen tells the filmmaker.

"Yeah, it's all about the money right?" she responds.

"It's all about the money, exactly," Mateen says.

G4S confirms the security guard in the movie is Mateen and he was stationed in Pensacola for several months following the oil spill in 2010.

The company says he was an employee starting in 2007.

His last shift was the day before the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Statement from the filmmakers:

"It has come to our attention that a security guard that we spoke to in our documentary "The Big Fix" was Omar Mateen. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide them with access to the footage should it be helpful in their investigation. We do not want to add any more undue attention to the shooter. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims of the massacre, we grieve with you."
