Just before noon Tuesday, authorities responded to a small plane that crashed into the ocean off Haulover Beach.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene about 40 feet from shore around 11:30 a.m., officials said.
The plane crashed near the 1800 block of Collins Ave.
Two people were inside when the single-engine plane went down but did not suffer serious injuries, according to the Coast Guard.
Twitter user @TheSamiJoShow tweeted photos of the plane after it landed in the water and said the passengers swam to shore as the plane took about two minutes to go under.
