1. DeSantis: Coronavirus vaccines coming within weeks
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says hospitals throughout the state may begin receiving COVID-19 vaccines within the next three to six weeks.
The governor said Florida has been actively planning and preparing for vaccine distribution, and has purchased five million syringes, five million needles, and five million alcohol swabs.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the federal government’s top infectious disease expert, said that the “cavalry is coming" in first coronavirus task force briefing since July.
2. Election 2020 Latest: Biden wins Georgia recount
Following a hand recount of ballots in Georgia, President-elect Joe Biden maintained a 12,000-vote lead over President Donald Trump.
The conclusion of the recount means that Biden is the projected winner of the state and its 16 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press.
Trump's legal team has suggested that a judge order Pennsylvania to set aside the popular vote there and his allies are pressuring county officials in Arizona to delay certifying vote tallies. Election law experts don't believe this will change any outcomes.
3. Missing Child Alert issued for 13-year-old girl from Miami
A Florida Missing Child Alert has been issued for 13-year-old Paige Strickland. Police say it may be difficult for Paige to communicate.
Paige has dyed purple and blonde hair. She has a reddish birthmark on her right cheek. She may have a blue backpack with her.

4. Bad News for Homeowners: Insurance rate hikes and less CARES help
Since January of this year, state regulators have approved about 100 rate hike requests involving dozens of property insurers.
The insurance industry blames the 2017-2018 storm season. Hurricanes Irma and Michael caused catastrophic damage and triggered more than $20 billion in claims.
Some homeowners will be denied help promised by Palm Beach County under the federal CARES act.

Santa Claus has added more venues to his appearance calendar, and Adam Carolla is in town unscripted, plus a lot more holiday fun round out this weekend's list.
