A study says some Sunshine State residents are among the happiest and healthiest people in the country, including a city in Southwest Florida ranking No. 1.

Florida, California, Colorado and Texas had several communities that rank very highly in overall well-being, according to a new report from the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.

The report, titled “State of American Well-Being: 2015 Community Well-Being Rankings and Access to Care,” examined well-being of 190 communities across the nation.

The four states mentioned above account for 14 of the top 20 well-being communities.

The area of Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island topped the list for the nation’s highest well-being community.   The study said Naples scored very highly in both purpose, social well-being and community well-being.

Another Florida area, North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, ranked No. 3 overall in the U.S.

The top five with the highest well-being in the U.S. are:

1. Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island, Fla.
2. Salinas, Calif.
3. North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.
4. Fort Collins, Colo.
