You will soon be able to see your mail before it even arrives in your mailbox.
The United States Postal Service has been testing this out in a few cities, including South Florida, but it's going nationwide next week.
The service became available in the West Palm Beach area in March. By April 14, Informed Delivery will be available in the majority of the United States.
Once you sign up for the free service, you will get an email each morning with black and white images of the front side of letters that are on the way to your home.
The post office isn't actually opening your mail, just doing a digital scan of the envelope.
One good thing about getting a picture of your mail is if it doesn't end up arriving, it makes it easier to report what is missing.
You may even get it back faster.
The postal service says you shouldn't be worried about your privacy with this service because it is protecting your personal information.
Make sure when you get notification emails they are from USPS.com, otherwise they could be scam emails.
