Sometimes you want a home-cooked meal but don’t have all the ingredients on hand. I admit that even when I do have everything I need in my cupboards and refrigerator, pulling everything together and prepping it can feel like too much after a long day.
My family has tried a couple of meal-kit delivery services before. But, what if you don’t have a membership to one of them and need a quick option to get food from the kitchen to the dining room table?
Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country have just the solution. Starting May 4, the restaurant chain will start selling chicken parmesan meal kits at participating locations. Chick-fil-A tested a similar kit back in 2018 in a limited area, and now, with a few changes, these kits are back to meet the needs of customers during the coronavirus pandemic.
“After receiving such a positive response about our Chicken Parmesan Meal Kit during our 2018 test, we’re thrilled to offer it with great enhancements at participating restaurants nationwide during a time when our guests need convenient mealtime options,” said Stuart Tracy, senior culinary lead at Chick-fil-A, in a press release. “We hope that providing a dinner option for guests who are ordering lunch with us will help make mealtime decisions easier. The goal is to deliver the joy of cooking without added stress, and the recipe is simple enough that even the kids can help!”
Each kit costs $14.99 and serves two adults. The meal includes two seasoned, breaded and pressure-cooked Original Chick-fil-A filets; marinara sauce; Italian-style cheeses; and creamy garlic-and-lemon pasta. However, customers can customize their chicken to include either grilled or spicy if they prefer.
You can order the Chick-fil-A meal kits at the drive-thru, order through the Chick-fil-A app or for delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub.
Other restaurants are making it easier to put together a quick meal at home, too. Longhorn Steakhouse is now selling cuts from their online steak shop that you can order for pickup, along with classic sides like mashed potatoes and seasoned broccoli. All you have to do is fire up the grill and heat up the side dishes.
Here’s to easy dinners!
