WPTV First Alert Weather meteorologist Chris Sowers joined the team in October 2024 and brings more than 24 years of television experience including 21 in top five television markets.
Chris brings extensive experience to our weather department, including more than 18 years at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia.
Chris also previously served as chief meteorologist at WNKY-TV in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and meteorologist at WFLD-TV in Chicago.

He's covered everything from Superstorm Sandy to Hurricane Irene.
Chris hails from New Jersey and got his degree from Kean University.
He is an avid weightlifter, runner and swimmer. He and his wife Lori are proud parents to 2-year-old Paige and they are big Disney fans.
The family has a rescue dog named Mr. Murphy Pants. Fun fact: Chris also has an identical twin brother.
