At WPTV, we believe that giving a child a book can unlock boundless possibilities, plant the seeds for future success, and help break the cycle of poverty.

Our annual "If You Give a Child a Book..." campaign, in partnership with the Scripps Howard Fund, focuses on providing books to children in low-income neighborhoods, particularly those in kindergarten through third grade.

These early years are crucial for developing reading skills, yet many children lack access to the books they need.

By partnering with Title I schools and bringing Scholastic Book Fairs to our community, we empower children to choose their own books, fostering a love of reading and improving literacy.

Diverse reading materials not only enhance comprehension but also promote empathy, respect and self-esteem.

Books should not be luxuries beyond reach; they are essential tools for education and personal growth. Simply put, "If You Give a Child a Book..." you give a child a chance.
