There’s something so heartwarming about a brightly lit Christmas tree. It’s one of the things that makes the holiday season so joyful and magical.
But there’s no rule that says you can’t enjoy a decorated tree outside of December. If you’re looking for a way to brighten up your home this spring, why not put up an Easter tree?
An Easter tree is just like a Christmas tree, but instead of Santa Claus, snowmen and nativity-themed ornaments, the tree is decorated in pastels and with Easter bunnies, Easter eggs and other trinkets that evoke the springtime holiday.

Although the trend of Easter trees might just be catching on in the United States, it turns out they’ve been popular for years in Germany.
Tami Kelly, a representative for Treetopia, told Romper that the tradition of decorating bare tree branches with painted eggs is known as Ostereierbaum, and that it’s intended to usher in the spring. The company shared an example on their own Instagram feed, showing how a pink tree makes for a perfect Easter tree:
