The 61st annual Grammy Awards were a star studded affair, and at least one celebrity wanted to make a political statement on the red carpet.
Singer Joy Villa donned a "Build the Wall" dress that had social media buzzing — both with positive and negative feedback. The gown had a shiny silver outer shell with a white gown underneath, which she revealed on the red carpet. The white dress had a black outline of bricks and the words "Build the Wall" written in bold red on the back of the skirt. The shoulders of the dress appeared to have concertina wire attached to them. She was also carrying a bright red purse emblazoned with "Make America Great Again."
.@Joy_Villa's wall dress was her best yet. Clever, timely, hilarious — just excellent! pic.twitter.com/No59v2g8F4

Instead of paying 5.7 billion for a wall why don’t we have talentless hacks like Tomi Lahren and Joy Villa dress like the wall and stand at the border?
I assure no one will want to come here after checking out those visions.

The singer took to Twitter to respond to the comments, saying "I don't care what anyone thinks."
Y'all are telling me that Joy Villa vehemently supports Trump, a man who admitted on LIVE TV that he's grabbed women by the pussy, and yet she filed a sexual harassment complaint against his campaign manager? She realises she's enabling the man who assaulted her, right? pic.twitter.com/jtDieGJ85z

I don’t care what anyone thinks. I 100% support the wall & our President @realDonaldTrump. Do you want more drugs brought in? (70% of heroin from Mexico) More illegal women getting sexually assaulted (1 in 3)? More children being trafficked? (Thousands a year) because I DO NOT! pic.twitter.com/ErdOJhD5IN

The amount of sheer hatred, racism & violent ignorance thrown at me for wearing my support would be heartbreaking if it weren’t so over the top hilarious. 🤣😂🤣 I’ve only been called a “nappy headed n*gger” or “monkey face” by POC. 🤷🏽♀️ #Grammys2019 #lovingliberals #thelovingleft pic.twitter.com/FVa0Wy7Ueu

The dress earned approval from conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

This isn't the first time the singer and songwriter has ruffled a few feathers with her dresses. Villa, a supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump, is fairly well-known for her out-of-the-box takes on fashion. She wore a "Make America Great Again" gown to the Grammys in 2017.
