Disney debuted its first full-length trailer for its upcoming live-action adaption of "Aladdin" during the Grammy Awards on Sunday evening.
The trailer featured a first look at star Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott ans Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar — but it was the Genie that stole the show.
The Genie was originally voiced by the late Robin Williams in the animated version of the film. But Sunday night, America got its first look at a live-action Genie — played by actor Will Smith.
The reaction on Twitter was swift, and at times harsh.
