WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Right now anyone can sell a gun or buy a gun from a non-Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealer. If President Barack Obama has his way that will soon change.

Brandon Wexler's works for his dad at K & W Gun Works and says he agrees with the change. "What he wants to do is he wants to tighten the laws for private firearm sales as in gun shows," Wexler said.

Under Obama's executive order unlicensed private sellers will no longer be able to simply rent a table at a gun show and set up shop, they will have to be licensed and run background checks.

Wexler said he doesn't agree with private sales or, "an individual walking through a gun show that is not a dealer, not an FFL dealer. Because there's no background done on the individual. You don't know if that individual is a criminal."

Gary Woodard has a different opinion. Woodard is a member of a Florida gun club. He says one of the perks of joining is being able to buy, sell or trade weapons at their monthly meetings.

"We bring firearms in from antiques to semi-automatic pistols," Woodard explained. "It's just an audience to wheel and deal in."

Hobbyists like Woodard may soon have to buy, sell and trade fire arms through a FFL dealer who can run background checks. An unintended consequence of a move the president says could keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.

"This is going to eliminate the people that sell firearms at shows are in the street without doing a background check which is how it should be done," Wexler said. "I think this is a necessary action."
