School shootings by the numbers: 15 school shootings in 2018, 5 dead, 19 injured

The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Highschool was the 15th school shooting this year at an elementary or secondary school.

In 2018, prior to today’s tragic event, at least 5 people have been killed and at least 19 have been injured in school shootings, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

California (10), Illinois (8) and Florida (8) have seen the most school shootings in the nation since 2017.

Nationwide since 2017 at least 30 people have died and at least 79 people were injured sofar, not counting today.
