Living in a warm climate is awesome, but it’s hard not to get a bit jealous when the rest of the country gets blanketed in snow during the holiday season.
Sure, there are downsides to having to deal with snow in the winter, but most people can agree that a little bit of flurrying makes for the perfect backdrop to a cozy night in.
Craving Snowy Weather?
Not everyone has the luxury of taking a ski trip when they want to enjoy some of that fresh powder on their own. So, you have to get creative when it comes to enjoying a little winter cheer in 70-degree weather.
That’s why we love this idea of making your own snow. It’s easy and only requires two items!
How To Make Your Own Snow
You can make DIY snow at home thanks to DaveHax, and you only need a couple of ingredients that you probably already have in your home. It may not be the real thing, but this snow is frost-free and won’t leave your fingers feeling numb.
Plus, it’s a great activity to do with kids who are longing to make a snowman but are stuck with warmer weather instead.
Here’s what you’ll need:
– 3 cups baking soda
– 1/2 cup white hair conditioner
– A bowl
To make the snow, all you have to do is mix the baking soda with the conditioner.
Instead of using a spoon to create the mixture, knead it by hand so you can feel the texture. If it’s too sticky, add more baking soda; if it’s too dry, add some more conditioner.

Feel free to experiment with other household items such as shaving cream, cornstarch and even coarse sea salt.
Go ahead and play mother nature for a day. This kind of blizzard won’t wreak havoc on your home, but it will make for some wintry fun, and give your kids the opportunity to make some cute snow angels.
Now, even when you’re stuck inside, you can let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
