Kudos are in order for Jessica Simpson. After giving birth to her third child, a daughter named Birdie Mae, back in March, the 39-year-old singer and fashion designer revealed on Instagram that she has lost over 100 pounds through hard work, healthy eating, and exercise.

In the caption, she wrote: “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240 😜) My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.”

Simpson also showed off her newly svelte figure in another Instagram post, wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline:

Simpson credits her post-partum weight loss to a healthy lifestyle and a lot of determination.

“I am working really hard right now. It’s not easy at all, but I am determined to feel good,” she told People Magazine in July. “I have been doing a lot of walking — getting my steps in not only burns calories but it also helps me clear my head and get focused.”

In addition to exercise, Simpson worked on improving her diet.

“I am eating healthy too — I discovered I really like cauliflower,” Simpson said. “Who knew it could be a substitute for almost anything?!”

Simpson is not the only celebrity to publicly talk about how much hard work it takes to lose weight after having a baby, even with the advantage of being wealthy and having access to private trainers and nutritionists.

After the birth of her second child in 2018, Blake Lively, who’s expecting baby number three, revealed that it took her 14 months to lose 61 pounds.

“Turns out you can’t lose the 61 lbs you gained through pregnancy by just scrolling through instragram [sic] and wondering why you don’t look like all the bikini models,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway, who is also currently pregnant again, got real with her Instagram followers in a post following the birth of her son Jonathan in 2016.

“There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever),” she wrote. “There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs. Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It’s all love.”

Amen to that!
