One of the best things about breakfast is that it can be quite versatile. Want something hearty? Have bacon and eggs. In the mood for something sweet? Try French toast.
If you love sweet flavors for breakfast, there’s a new morning treat hitting shelves later this year you will definitely want to check out: Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies cereal!
Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the original Little Debbie snack cake, Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies are the first Little Debbie treat to be transformed into a cereal.
Little Debbie hinted at this development on social media, and fans went wild:
Yes, that's right there will be Oatmeal Creme Pies cereal! Stay tuned to our social media for more details. ð pic.twitter.com/opSWxKCtIF

A Kellogg’s representative tells us the cereal features oatmeal cookie pieces made with cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of molasses — just like the original Oatmeal Creme Pies! It will be available in stores nationwide beginning in December in a 9.1-ounce box for around $3.99 or a 14.5-ounce box for $5.69.
While a first for Little Debbie, this is not the only snack cake to be turned into a cereal. Post and Hostess teamed up in 2018 for Honey Bun cereal and Donettes cereal, then debuted Twinkies cereal last December.
Hostess also transformed some of their other sweet treats into an even sweeter treat in 2017 when they launched limited-edition Twinkies and SnoBalls ice cream.
You can even try making your own cereal, a trend that began during the height of the coronavirus pandemic when it was either hard to find food or people simply didn’t want to go to the store.
If you like to stick to classic breakfast staples, mini pancake cereal may be the way to go. If you’re not afraid of dessert for breakfast (which I’m guessing you’re not if you’re reading this story!), you may instead want to try cookie cereal, which involves baking mini chocolate chip cookies and — you guessed it — putting them in a bowl and covering them in milk.
But you don’t have to limit your breakfast cookies to one flavor. If you just can’t wait for Oatmeal Cream Pies cereal, you could make mini oatmeal cookies and get that sweet oatmeal goodness in a bowl of milk now!
