Breakfast just got a whole lot more delicious. Land O’Lakes released a maple butter made with brown sugar, and it sounds like it was custom-made to be the most perfect topping of all time for pancakes, waffles, toast and any other yummy breakfast-time vehicle you can dream up.
Officially dubbed Maple Me Crazy Butter Spread, this tasty new spread is only available for a limited time, so make sure to snag a tub while you can.
Beginning in May, it was offered at ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer, Kroger and Market Basket stores across the country, though the limited supply of the butter tubs may have run out by now at your local store.
According to the product description, Maple Me Crazy Butter Spread is here to “elevate your brunch and breakfast dishes with a delightfully sweet combination of sweet cream, maple syrup and brown sugar. It’s perfected topped on fluffy pancakes, swirled into oatmeal or spread on cinnamon toast.”
Yum!
In addition to using it as a topping for your favorite breakfast foods, it’s also a versatile cooking and baking ingredient. Land O’Lakes suggests baking it into sugar cookies, melting it on roasted sweet potatoes and using in caramel corn.
Banana bread has become a popular recipe for people stuck at home in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and this recipe for maple banana bread made with the new butter spread just may be the best take on the classic snack yet. Don’t be afraid to spread some extra butter on a slice of the bread while it’s still warm!
Need an easy breakfast that the whole family can enjoy? This maple French toast bake, also from Land O’Lakes, takes just 30 minutes of prep time, and its melt-in-your-mouth texture will ensure it becomes a weekend tradition in your home.
It needs to be refrigerated for at least four hours before baking, so you can even make it the night before and simply pop it in the oven in the morning.
If you can’t get ahold of the Land O’Lakes maple butter but have just developed an appetite for maple-flavored goodies, there are also some great maple recipes you can make at home in the meantime. Try Applebee’s Copycat Maple Butter Blondies, for example, from Fav Family Recipes.
Or you could try your hand at making your own maple butter spread, which is a simple process! This 2-Minute Maple Butter recipe from The Food Charlatan requires just a few ingredients you probably already have on hand. Land O’Lakes has its own easy recipe, too.
