Fall is in the air and now is the time to start 'leaf peeping' — a favorite pastime of autumn lovers where you go view the season's colors in all their glory.

But Mother Nature is one tricky minx. Fall's colors seem to come and go as quickly as a cool breeze, so how do you ensure you catch your state's peak orange and reds?

This tool from smokymountains.com, a tourism website for the Smoky Mountains region, provides a glimpse at when fall foliage peaks for each state.

The 2018 fall foliage map provides a handy sliding tool with a complete view of the continental U.S. so users can see when the autumn colors will reach their apex — and when they fade away.

The site says while the tool is not 100 percent accurate, it provides a fairly accurate prediction.

So don't wait too long, leaf lovers. Fall colors will fade before you can say Pumpkin Spice Latte five times fast.
