Big Dog Ranch Rescue's normal capacity for dogs is considered to be around 500. As Hurricane Dorian approaches, they have 650 dogs in their system. That's about 150 more than they can handle since only 12 staff members will be on site should a storm affect South Florida.

The Ranch is looking for volunteers to host these dogs to keep them safe and protected. The animal rescue says they will, "provide food, any medication that the dog or dogs you foster are taking, and a crate if needed. All you need to do is bring a leash."

If you are interested call 561-309-3311. Dogs are available for pick up through Saturday and returned on Wednesday.
