Universal announces first original content haunted house of the season

ORLANDO, Fla. — When you think of haunted houses in Florida, Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights is definitely one thrill seekers look forward too.

Past themes of the various houses have been based on classic horror movies like Poltergeist or the Netflix series Stranger Things (which is coming back this year). The resort announced its first original content haunted house pf 2019 called "Nightingales: Blood Pit."

In a statement the resort says, "Guests will be transported to ancient Rome where they must escape the gladiator arena as the bloodthirsty nightingales begin to feed on the dead and dying. But with nothing to protect them, will they make it out alive or become part of history…"

Halloween Horror Nights 2019 will run on select nights from September 6 to November 2.
