WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Earlier in the year than usual, Sunny 107.9 (WEAT-FM) brought its traditional Christmas format flip back on Wednesday at midnight. The first song was "The Christmas Song," by Nat King Cole.

For Wednesday only, the station will be commercial-free.

“Sunny 107.9 has removed all commercials, all day long! With all the negative political ads & noise, we thought people could use a break. So no commercials. None. Zero,” says Bruce Logan, Program Director for Sunny 107.9.

The station polled its listeners about when they wanted holiday music to return. The result? Overwhelming with the response, "
immediately."

Regular commercials will return on Thursday. The holiday music format is expected to play through Christmas Day.

On-air personality Tracy St. George, adorned her Christmas Story pink bunny costume and greeted Santa to the studio.
