Today over 10 local artists took cover from rainfall at the Meyer Amphitheater to paint 25 picnic tables into artistic versions of Aesop's Fables.
"We are really trying to emphasize community and put unity in the community," said Mary Pinak Community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach. "Just as diverse our community is these tables represent that and they tell good stories," said Mary.
Local artist Peggy Lowenberg agrees, "There is always a beautiful message of value, of human values."
The summer-long outdoor art installation will debut on Thursday, June 1 during Clematis by Night.
I asked artist Candice Carpentieri why she took part in painting one of the picnic tables, "I just thought it was a really good cause, to give back to the community, also to showcase my artwork."
You will be able to enjoy the tables for three months on the Great Lawn in downtown West Palm Beach.
