ORLANDO — Star Wars fans are expected to be coming in droves to Walt Disney World's newest attraction.

Opening Thursday at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the latest Star Wars ride called "Ride of the Resistance."

WPTV's Taste and See South Florida got to privately preview the attraction on Tuesday before it opens to the public. It is the second ride added to the expansion of the park called "Galaxy's Edge."

"Rise of The Resistance is an epic experience. It's going to put you into this battle between the First Order and the Resistance. You're actually going to be apart of the Resistance, you're going to experience what it is like to become face to face with 'Kylo Ren' and all these storm troopers trying to find their way off a Star Destroyer," said Disney imagineer John Larena.

On the ride, you come face-to-face with to-scale versions of All-Terrain Walkers, the camel-esque looking tanks featured in Empire Strikes Back.

The fully-immersive experience has guests dodge bad guys left and right -- including 50 very lifelike and ominous stormtroopers.

"I think it's just one of those epic moments that when you actually experience it yourself, it just blows you away. You're like, 'wow this is very real,'" says Larena.

Guests will come in close proximity to "Kylo Ren" the Millennial's version of Darth Vader.

The ride brought me back to my childhood, but I felt like I was actually living inside my own real-life Star Wars movie.

The attraction's vehicles are droids in their own right, parking themselves as guests get off the ride.

Now, I will say when you go into the Star Destroyer's hanger bay and 50 Storm Troopers are there to great you, it's very menacing.
