Keith Urban, the ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year, was late for his performance to close out SunFest because weather diverted his plane to Miami.
Urban told festival goers his Uber driver went over 100 miles per hour on the freeway to get him and his crew to SunFest (starting his show 90 minutes late). He said he downloaded an app that told him how fast he was going.
"102 [mph], 103 [mph]...this [Uber driver] is my hero right now," said Urban to a packed SunFest crowd.
Today, on Wave 92.7 FM (Treasure Coast) and Wave 93.3 FM (West Palm Beach) he was questioned about the speed his driver reached on I-95. He told radio host Bobby Bones the Uber driver didn't know who he was and that ,"He just took it upon himself to get us [to SunFest] swiftly."
Bones asks, "Did you hit triple-digit though in the speed?"
Urban responded, "No, we never hit triple-digits. I exaggerated a little bit."
