LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. — Lions are listed as vulnerable in the wild and Lion Country Safari says the birth of Atlas and Mara make a significant impact towards the species not going extinct.
The pair of lion cubs will be celebrating their first birthday on Sunday at the venue. Guests are encouraged to write a birthday message with non-toxic window markers.

WPTV NewsChannel 5’s T.A. Walker got to go safely into the enclosure to get a preview of what their party will look like. Including a look at the birthday cake and other party favors.
“Some enrichments in the form of painted coconuts, a cake made out of a popsicle with some of the blood of the juice from their diet, their beef, as well as some Jello and some whipped cream which they absolutely love," said Haley Passeser, spokesperson for Lion Country Safari.

If you want to get the best look at the party, organizers say you should get there when the park opens at 9:30. Note… You must purchase your tickets in advance, they are not selling them at the gate because of COVID-19.
