As kids, the television show Sesame Street taught us we are special and we can be anything we set our minds to.
The musical Avenue Q teaches us that we aren't as special as we thought and life is way harder than we were told.
The very adult show warns parents to leave the kids at home for this one. The puppets 'perform' sex acts, have adult language, and are extremely funny.
Wednesday, I walked into the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center as the cast was rehearsing. It happened to be at the same time 'Lucy The Slut' (the puppet's name) died in the show. Like I said, leave the kids at home.
'Lucy The Slut' dies in the musical Avenue Q. That the character's name. Seriously. @KravisCenterpic.twitter.com/0F3MqphdsP

What's different from Sesame Street is you can see the puppeteers. In this case, the puppeteers are actors who mimic what their puppet's emotions. Which is a little problematic regarding your suspended disbelief, until you get used to it.
