The Chalk Guys, Hector Diaz and Ken Mullen, create artwork at WPTV studios

Posted

The Chalk Guys, Hector Diaz and Ken Mullen, are professional street painters who create custom 2D and 3D art for festivals and special events nationwide.

They will be creating chalk artwork today on the WPTV helipad from 5-6:30 p.m. during our newscasts.

The Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is this weekend in downtown Lake Worth. The free event starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday along Lake and Lucerne Aves.

First introduced to street painting over twenty years ago at the Lake Worth festival, Hector was hooked from the start. He quickly paired with lifelong friend Ken to recreate a painting by William Waterhouse. This would become the first of many collaborations.

Eventually, the duo began creating larger pieces and experimenting with the 3D style for which they are known today.

Officially dubbing themselves the “Chalk Guys” in 2013, they have since shared their 3D street paintings all over the United States.
