WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach International Airport was "experiencing extensive delays and cancellations" Monday afternoon.
The airport said Monday afternoon on Twitter that the issues are related to the closure of the Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control center near Jacksonville.
PBI is experiencing extensive delays and cancellations due to this afternoon's temporary closing of the FAA JAX Center in Hilliard. Travelers should contact their airlines for flight schedule impacts.

The NBC affiliate in Jacksonville reported that the facility was closed because it was being cleaned after there was a positive case of COVID-19.
As of Monday afternoon, there had been four cancellations and eight delayed flights that were scheduled to arrive in West Palm Beach.
At least three departing flights were also canceled.
All travelers were encouraged to contact their airlines for how the cancellations and delays will impact their flights.
