NEVADA — A Las Vegas couple is honoring the ghosts of Las Vegas' past with a nostalgic Halloween display.
Peter Mietlowski and his wife, Sarah Ingalls, love decorating their home for Halloween.
Five years ago, they wanted to create a graveyard decoration. Ingalls came up with the idea to give it a special Las Vegas touch.
"I said, 'Wouldn't it be funny to do a graveyard of imploded or defunct casinos?'" Ingalls said.
Mietlowski got to work. He creates the tombstones by hand and aims to make each one mimic the true shape of old casino logos.
Mietlowski said the hardest one to create was the Stardust. It's also his favorite.
"I love seeing the reactions," Mietlowski said adding that many of his neighbors will share nostalgic stories about certain casinos.
The couple tries to add a new tombstone every year. They plan to continue the tradition for many years to come.
The home is located on Altacrest Drive near Bermuda Road and Windmill Lane in Las Vegas.
