VERO BEACH, Fla. — For the eleventh year, the United Way of Indian River County will offer free income tax assistance to residents in need.
This is all with the help of IRS-certified volunteers contributing their time and expertise.
Through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, people who make $56,000 or less can receive help filing.
Experts say families with low to moderate-income may miss out on substantial tax credits if they don't have assistance filing their tax returns.
The only location offering VITA services is the United Way Center, located at 1836 14th Ave. in Vero Beach.
They will be operating a "drop off valet model," meaning all paperwork must be gathered by the time of your scheduled appointment.
A tax preparer will contact the client by phone or text if there are any questions about the client's tax return.
Visit the United Way of Indian River County website's tax sectionand read all the required documents needed.
If you cannot make an appointment through their website, call (772) 203-5766 and leave your name, number, and a message. A volunteer will try to return your call within 24 hours.
