BOCA RATON, Fla — A Boca Raton florist is doing her part to cheer up many mothers and grandmothers who will be celebrating Mother's Day without their families this year.

Lynette Lever, owner of NY Floral Design, and her staff took it upon themselves to deliver seventy-five carnations to mothers, grandmothers, and staff at Artis Senior LivingWednesday.

Lever said she lost her mother in February and wanted to do whatever she could to honor her for Mother's Day.

"It's just a good thing to give, especially in these times when everybody is down," said Lever. "Flowers just cheer people up."

Lever said there are sixty-eight mothers and grandmothers currently living at Artis.

She also said despite the coronavirus, her flower shop has remained busy with deliveries including a bulk of them scheduled for Sunday.
