ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. — Three people were hospitalized Thursday evening after a shooting at a 7-Eleven in Royal Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. at a 7-Eleven on Southern Boulevard, just east of Royal Palm Beach Boulevard.

An employee working at inside the 7-Eleven told WPTV a fight broke out inside in front of the cash register. The men quickly moved outside, and he said that's when he heard gun shots.

Deputies arrived at the scene and located three men suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

The three men were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were unknown.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said several people were detained.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known.

Barbera said there was no immediate threat to the community.
