Florida Senate District 29: Tina Polsky, Brian Norton square off for state seat

The race for Florida Senate District 29 pits a newcomer Republican and a veteran Democrat candidate.

Democrat Tina Polsky, who has experience as a Florida state representative, won the primary seat in August.

"In the state Senate, I'll make sure that our government prioritizes emergency preparedness so that we're equipped to adequately respond to public health crises until a COVID-19 vaccine is developed," said Polsky on her campaign page.

Polsky also said she will advocate for public schools and solutions to gun violence like banning assault weapons.

Republican Brian Norton is running for office for the first time.

"What was good enough for yesterday may not be good enough for today. And what is good enough for today, may not be good enough for tomorrow. We need leaders who understand this, who can put their full attention towards solving the problems of today and be prepared for an ever-changing future," Norton says on his campaign page.
