LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (WPTV) — As the weather continues to intensify in Lake Worth Beach, some people are appreciating Mother Nature, despite evacuations and closures.

Lake Worth Beach is currently closed because it's getting pounded by intense waves, due to Hurricane Dorian. High tide and stronger surf wiped out a big portion of a sea turtle nest on the beach.

However, people are out in large crowds on the beach while they wait for Hurricane Dorian. Lots of families were enjoying the weather, with kids playing in the sand and people flying kites. Surfers weren't turned away by the weather, either. A few of them that the beach had ideal conditions.

Zones A and B in Palm Beach County are under a mandatory evacuation, but people are saying that they're enjoying the weather while they can.
